Recently, I have been really good at making my travel time, study time. It is pretty hard to study on the plane I have found, but with the luck of a few First Class seats and smooth flights, I have been getting a lot done. I hope I can make this a habit throughout the month with movie premiers and weddings to attend.

Half my carry-on is text books.

This is a great study station I found in the Denver Airport.

This spot was not that good for studying. I didn’t have anyone sitting next to me, but the confinement just made me air-sick and no school work was finished on this flight.

Swix Waxing Iron

Purchasing a waxing iron can be one of the best investments you can make for your skiing. Not only will you glide fast and hike less, but you will be taking care of your skis. I have been waxing and tuning my skis since I was 10 years old. Here is a quick tutorial:

Ski Waxing Tutorial By Grete:

What you need: skis, waxing iron, ski wax and a scraper.

1. Buy a Waxing Iron

2. Buy Wax (Waxes are different for different temperatures of snow).

3. Buy Scraper

4. Find a space at home, preferably outside where you do not mind dripping wax onto the floor. You also need a space that has proper air-flow so you do not get sick from the waxing-fumes. (Suggested Locations: garage, patio, laundry room, furnace room, work-shop, etc.).

5. Plug iron into the wall and let the iron warm-up (approx. 5 min.). Pick up the iron and wax when green light appears. That means the iron is ready.

6. Press wax against the iron and drip 1-2 drops of wax on the ski every inch.

7. After covering the base of the ski with wax dots, iron the ski from top to bottom in one smooth movement so you do not back track and make the base too hot and cause damage to your ski bases.

8. Once you have covered the entire ski base with wax. Allow wax to sit for 2+ hrs. The more time you let the wax sit the better.

9. Scraper the wax off the skis from top to bottom. (If you find this process hard to do without a ski vice, you may want to consider purchasing a ski vice. This will hold the ski position and make the entire process of scraping and waxing much easier).

10. GO SKIING!

Breakfast. And I did it, I ate eggs. I was scared the last few weeks I have not touched the stuff.

Ghost Tree Invitiational At Proghorn Golf Resort

I am in Oregon right now par-taking in the Ghost Tree Invitational at the Proghorn Golf Resort in Oregon. (Sorry, but I misplaced my camera prior to this trip. So they are images from my phone).
Yesterday we had the chance to take part in a few different contests. Longest drive, putting and pool splash. This is a photo of actor Isaiah Washington trying out his driving skills.
This is the putting green course. It was really competitive. Bobby Gross and Terry Porter former Portland Trailblazer legends were in front of my partner and I. I think they ended up winning with a 19. They are good golfers too!

7:30 am Tee Times. Not bad, but not easy.

The Proghorn golf course is the most amazing golf course I have ever played at.
Actor Josh Daugherty: cigar – check!, pants – check! – picture-perfect-shot – check! This actor is hilarious. He was on my team for my scramble.
This 2010 Chevy Tahoe was up for grabs on this par-3. I did not get a hole-in-one, so I did not win, but my whole team got real close. This was the best day of golf I have ever had. I have never had so much playing the game before. I am pretty sure it had a lot to do with my awesome scramble team. Ryan, Jeff, Kevin and Josh. Thanks guys for a great day!

Oakley Raise Pant

Hey Everyone!

This is something new I am going to start doing on my site. I hope you find it informative and helpful in buying new gear. I am going to try to give you an in-depth look into the gear I mostly use. If you like it, let me know. If you do not and can not understand why I would wear or use such a thing, let me know.

The first product I am going to be talking about is the Oakley Raise Pant.

OAKLEY RAISE PANT

I wore this pant and the jacket that comes with it all season. The jacket is a pull-over and super functional. I usually wear a size Large Snow-pant, but I wore these in a medium. By ordering a size that fits well, it is easier to hike in and you will not have loose material bothering you trying to restrict you from getting up the mountain. Usually, I wear my pants out really good during the season. Because I use to wear them so baggy they would always drag on the ground and I would step on my ski boot. With these pants they fit around your boot and hang just enough to cover your buckles, but not enough to drag on the ground. The pant comes in white and this red. I wore the red, but have the white. White is fun to wear, but gets dirty really easily. So you decide.
